Director of Construction

“Diversity” is the word Phil Harvey uses to describe what he likes best about his role at The Beach Company. His construction and development career spans more than 30 years of diverse experience from Preconstruction Manager, to Vice President of Operations with firms in Tennessee and Georgia, to extensive experience in conceptual budget estimating.

After joining The Beach Company in 2003, Phil moved to the headquarters office in 2007 to work more closely with development and design teams as he assumed the construction management and oversight role for new projects. His talent for interpreting building design and civil site design blueprints is highly valued during the contractor selection process, contract negotiations and throughout construction management for the duration of a project. “I use professionalism and diplomacy to work through issues to help everyone involved on a big construction project work toward a common goal.”

Phil’s mastery of the construction process is no doubt a result of his education in Construction Management from University of Tennessee and Tennessee State Technical Institute and his work experience with numerous architectural firms including Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart and Stewart; Helmet Smith Partners, and RTKL Associates. He gained further accolades as President of American Society of Professional Estimators in Tennessee, as a Member of Associated Builders and Contractors of America (ABC), Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and associate member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as numerous certifications in the construction industry including Construction Estimator by ABC and Professional Estimator Certified Professional Estimator by
ASPE.

“The Beach Company allows team members to use the range of their individual talents to add value in every facet of the business. When you’re allowed to be creative, you do your best work which enhances your professional reputation, as well the reputation of The Beach Company.”
