LS3P, a multi-disciplinary firm based in Charleston, S.C. offering architecture, interiors and planning services, is pleased to announce that it was recently awarded a 2021 Best in American Living Award (BALA) by The National Association of Home Builders Design Committee for The Beach Company’s, The Jasper.

“The design of the Jasper is based on a ‘building in the park’ concept due to its proximity to Colonial Lake, Moultrie Playground and the Ashley River Walk, and was inspired by details from Charleston’s historic People’s Building, Fort Sumter House and the Francis Marion Hotel,” says David Burt, vice president of LS3P. “We are thrilled to be recognized in conjunction with The Beach Company, Antunovich Associates of Chicago and DesignWorks for this one-of-a-kind legacy project.”

The Jasper, which was designed by LS3P architects in association with Antunovich Associates of Chicago and DesignWorks of Charleston, earned the Gold Award for the “Development 8 Stories & Over, For Rent” category. Setting the architectural standard for large buildings in Charleston’s historic district, The Jasper is a 12-story mixed-use building offering 219 for-rent multifamily units, in addition to AAA-office space and first-floor retail with an enclosed parking garage. Its massing and detailing seamlessly blends innovative design with the elegance of other cherished neoclassical structures found throughout Charleston. The residential building’s materials palette of cast stone, brick, ornate steel, and aluminum carry over to the mixed-use building, with upscale finishes accent the interior. Coupled with top-of-the-line amenities and unmatched views, The Jasper offers modern convenience like nowhere else in Charleston.
