Plans for the development include diverse retail and dining options in addition to a luxury multifamily community.

The Beach Company recently announced details for Cardinal Crossing, the first-ever mixed-use community in the highly sought-after Forest Acres neighborhood in Columbia, S.C. Plans for the development include diverse retail and dining options in addition to a luxury multifamily community.

Cardinal Crossing will seamlessly blend local and national retailers with The Cardinal, a community of townhomes and luxury apartments above and beyond the shops, all within a beautifully landscaped pedestrian village. The 256 residences will offer a unique, urban lifestyle in an amenity-rich community, including a saltwater pool, fitness center, club room, lounge, pet spa, bicycle station and dedicated resident vegetable gardens.

“Forest Acres is a wonderful community that needed a walkable ‘main street.’ Cardinal Crossing’s many dining, entertainment and upscale shopping options will complement the vibrant residential community to create a walkable town center for all Forest Acres residents to enjoy,” said Ned Miller, development manager for The Beach Company. “We will begin announcing many exciting vendors and retailers in the coming weeks.”

Acquired by The Beach Company in 2016, the 12-acre property is currently under development on the former site of Cardinal Newman High School. Cardinal Crossing’s initial retail offerings are expected to be open for business early fall, while The Cardinal apartments expect to welcome first residents by January 2020.
