The Beach Company acquired the 40-acre tract in 2002 and with plans to redevelop it. After an extensive 12-year environmental remediation on the brownfield site, The Factory was the first apt to open in 2014 as 217 unit Class A apartment community within walking distance to restaurants and entertainment in the lively Park Circle community. This development would go on to become the catalyst behind Park Circle, and would set the precedent for developing The Assembly, marking 22 years of redevelopment
