Gulf Stream Construction, a Beach Company subsidiary and full-service general site contractor specializing in civil construction and infrastructure, has completed Phase One of the Low Battery Restoration project to reconstruct part of the seawall from Tradd Street to Ashley Avenue along Murray Boulevard.
The $11 million Phase 1 of the Low Battery Restoration project includes the replacement of the existing water main, installation of new sanitary sewer and all sewer and laterals, over 1,000 feet of new storm drains with four water-quality units and the addition of a new outfall. Additionally, granite curb, traffic table granite edging, cobblestones and traffic delineator cobblestones were installed along with new 48-inch sidewalks adjacent to the seawall. The significant improvements are expected to help combat the neighborhood’s drainage problems.
Gulf Stream Construction has begun Phase 2 of the Low Battery Restoration project which includes additional concrete seawall, drainage, utility and streetscape construction and roadway improvements along a 1,100-foot section of Murray Boulevard. This $12 million phase of the project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
