EASTON PORTER GROUP AND THE BEACH COMPANY JOIN FORCES TO OPEN NEW FOOD & BEVERAGE CONCEPTS AT THE JASPER
Charleston hospitality and real estate leaders partner to bring eclectic coastal dining on the waterfront to new downtown mixed-use community.
Easton Porter Group, a luxury boutique hospitality company with properties in Charleston, SC and Charlottesville, VA, announces today plans to open two separate concepts in The Jasper, a 12-story mixed-use building developed by The Beach Company in Charleston: a coastal Italian-inspired restaurant and a gourmet market. Scheduled to open in late 2022, the restaurant and café will be located on the first floor of The Jasper and will offer high-quality, handcrafted cuisine along with convenient grab-and-go style foods. The design of the space will be envisioned by Glen & Company, an award-winning New York City-based architecture and interior design agency.
“The Jasper’s location in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, along with its premier amenities and luxury residences and office spaces, offers the perfect opportunity to expand our presence in the market and add a new, upscale restaurant and café to our portfolio,” says Easton Porter Group Co-founder and CEO Dean Porter Andrews. “We look forward to partnering with The Beach Company as a leader in residential and commercial real estate in the Southeast to bring these exciting new concepts to the area.”
The forthcoming restaurant will feature fresh, Mediterranean cuisine while the adjacent fast-casual café will offer breakfast items and a coffee bar seven days a week, along with a selection of international wines, house-made pastas and breads, and high-end specialty food products. In addition, the concepts will offer onsite cooking classes, wine classes and more. Chef Vinson Petrillo, executive chef of Zero Restaurant + Bar and the culinary director for Easton Porter Group, will oversee menu development and programming for the new concepts.
“In addition to state-of-the-art amenities and unmatched views, The Jasper provides a unique opportunity to live and work in the heart of downtown Charleston near the city’s top attractions and offerings,” says The Beach Company CEO John Darby. “By partnering with Easton Porter Group to offer The Jasper’s residents, office employees and Charleston locals a convenient, upscale restaurant and cafe, The Jasper will continue to improve the quality of life for our neighbors.”
Designed by award-winning NYC-based design firm Glen & Company Architecture, the restaurant will be inspired by casual yet refined coastal European restaurants and cuisine and pay homage to local and regional coastal influences. The dining experience will bring these details to life in the menu and the space with water views and sunsets over the Ashley River.
“Local restaurants offer an extraordinary combination of neighborhood pride and hospitality, and we look forward to designing a distinctly unique concept that we hope will appeal to both the full-time resident and the out-of-town visitor,” says Glen & Company President and Founder, Glen Coben. “From The Jasper’s luxury amenities to Easton Porter Group’s reputation for creating some of the Lowcountry’s most sought-after dining experiences, this restaurant represents a natural addition to our portfolio, alongside others like Carbone, Del Posto, Gabriel Kreuther, Empellon, and we’re honored to collaborate with the talented Easton Porter Group team on the project.”
Developed by The Beach Company, The Jasper features premium office space, luxury residences and premier dining and retail options in downtown Charleston. With commanding waterfront and peninsula views and first-class amenities to match, The Jasper offers the only opportunity to live or work in a new luxury space in the iconic historic district with 219 residences, 75,000 square feet of office space and 25,000 square feet of first-floor retail space with an enclosed parking garage.
Zuckerman Co. represented the landlord, Jasper Development LLC, and worked directly with Easton Porter Group on the tenant leases.
