Poogan’s Hospitality Group to open fifth Poogan’s concept and first outside of the Charleston market.
Colliers | South Carolina announces that Poogan’s Southern Kitchen will be the newest tenant to join the Cardinal Crossing development at 4605 Forest Drive in Forest Acres. Rox Pollard and Danny Bonds of Colliers represented The Beach Company as the landlord and George Wilson of Adams & Wilson Development represented Poogan’s Hospitality Group as the tenant in the transaction.
The Beach Company’s Cardinal Crossing is a $60 million mixed-use development on the former Cardinal Newman School site consisting of 256 luxury apartments and ±42,000 square feet of commercial space. The development’s vision continues Forest Acres’ tradition of creating vibrant communities in which to work, live and enjoy. Poogan’s Southern Kitchen will be located on the Southwest corner of the development, directly adjacent to Forest Drive and across the parking lot from Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. Other tenants at Cardinal Crossing include CycleBar, Club Pilates, Clean Juice, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Molto Vino, GoClear Orthodontics and Aria Nail Spa.
“Poogan’s friendly hospitality, delicious food and comfortable atmosphere will be a fantastic addition to Cardinal Crossing and a real asset to Forest Acres,” said Rox Pollard, Vice President and Director of Retail Services Team in Colliers’ Columbia office. “We are very excited that this respected Charleston brand has chosen to come to the Columbia region.”
From fluffy biscuits to crispy, bone-in fried chicken and shrimp & grits, Poogan’s Southern Kitchen will offer a comfortable and approachable dining experience in Forest Acres. The restaurant will occupy 6,600 square feet which includes private indoor dining, bar seating and a 1,000-square-foot outdoor dining area. The indoor space will seat 136 people (including 14 in the private dining area) and the outdoor patio will seat 60 people. The space will feature a full bar, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a dedicated space for to-go and delivery, frosted glass partitions, banquet seating and a heated veranda. The outdoor dining space will be pet-friendly.
“As somebody who was born and raised in the Lowcountry, it brings me great pride to expand into our sister market, Columbia, which has provided me with so many wonderful memories over the years,” said Brad Ball, President of Poogan’s Hospitality Group. “The Forest Acres community has already been incredibly supportive, and we are excited to bring our brand of Southern hospitality to the area.”
