The Beach Company announces two new hires at the company’s corporate headquarters in downtown Charleston.

Mary Caneer has been hired as vice president, treasurer and controller at The Beach Company. Mary is a certified public accountant (CPA) with 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. In her new role, she will oversee accounting, reporting and treasury for all Beach Company entities. Prior to joining The Beach Company, Mary held various senior management positions within the accounting and finance divisions of three publicly traded real estate investment trusts, a family office/developer, a single-family rental portfolio and an institutional real estate fund manager. She began her career with Ernst & Young in Atlanta, serving clients in the real estate and hospitality industries. Originally from Atlanta, Mary earned her bachelor’s degree as well as her master’s in accounting from Wake Forest University.  

Kris Liperote has been hired as development administrator at The Beach Company. In this role, she will be responsible for supporting the development staff, processing vendor invoices related to current and future projects and processing and submitting expenses. Kris is originally from Clemson, S.C., and prior to joining The Beach Company, she served as office administrator and assisted with client relations at Spectrum Court Reporting and Legal Video.
