The Beach Company Honored with Two Best in American Living Awards
The Beach Company, a leader in residential and commercial real estate brokerage, development and property management, announced today it was awarded two 2023 Best in American Living Awards (BALA) by The National Association of Home Builders Design Committee in the categories of On-the-Boards Multifamily Project and Community Facility, 1000+ Units. BALA is the building industry’s premier residential design awards program that spotlights the most creative and talented industry professionals who redefine design excellence for homes and communities nationally and internationally.
Canvas Academy, an exciting proposed multifamily project located in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, earned the gold award for On-the-Boards Multifamily Project. The building will serve as an elegant architectural anchor in its significant location on the new Cultural Corridor, a recent initiative to extend Greenville’s well-regarded Main Street west toward the city’s museum and cultural district. The design incorporates 248 market-rate residential units with a sophisticated lobby and 2,500 square feet of retail space on the first floor fronting College Street. Plans for Canvas Academy’s residential amenities include a roof-top terrace and pool, meeting facilities, exercise area, bicycle storage and repair and multiple levels of parking for approximately 420 vehicles.
The Spring House, a 9,000-square-foot swim and fitness club located in Kiawah River, a waterfront community developed by The Beach Company near historic Charleston, earned the silver award for Community Facility, 1000+ Units. Serving as the community’s gathering place with a junior Olympic-sized family pool and an adult pool, a spa with a shaded tiki bar and a full-service kitchen, The Spring House offers residents programming that caters to a variety of preferences for health, fitness and recreation. Additionally, the ground floor features an event/dining space, cabanas, a hot tub, an outdoor fireplace and a lower deck overlooking the river. Downstairs interiors feature a Lowcountry-inspired palette of greens and blues, and the upstairs event space features light earth tones inspired by Kiawah River’s landscape. The second level includes men’s and women’s locker rooms with saunas, steam rooms and state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
